These workshops are extremely gratifying and therapeutic. the concentration and mental focus really helps to get you to a level of meditation. the art of creating is extremely good for not only your physical health but for your mental health too.

Here at BLAGC we are all about creating a great atmosphere and community feel. Building these pieces and using heavy tools that you're not custom to using is both physically and mentally empowering. I would say that the community and environment can for sure be just as satusfying as your weekly yoga class.

In the community
Build like a girl Canada has been actively involved within the community in many ways. Whether it be conducting training courses or appearing at events to speak they are always looking to make a difference in theirs and surrounding communities. Below are just some samples of some organizations that have reached out to build like a girl Canada to have them get involved and help make a difference.
Girl Guildes Canada
Build like a girl Canada has been a proud supporter and has attended to help young girls learn the basics of using power tools and helped them to achieve their tool belt badge. Both Nikki and Sara where active girl guides in their youth so this was a great opportunity.
Trillium lakelands district school board
Build like a girl Canada has made several apprances for youth in the community to not only speak about women working in trades but also to teach some
wood working classes in these schools where they are lacking these types of programs. Carpentry along with many other trades can be a wonderful career choice that many don't realize is a stable industry that has much to offer.
Private SheShops
Looking to book a private event for you and your friends? maybe a birthday, bachlorette party or even just a girls day.... This is where you can book a private SheShop for whatever the occasion may be. whoever is hosting the event will get their item for free and depending on the sheshop selected a minimum and maximum number of guests will be required. For a custom event please send us a direct message so we can see if we can host and accommodate whatever you may have in mind.

Our Finishing products
All of our finishing products are hand selected and offered at our locations. they are based on the location and ghe project. all products are low VOC and safe to use. check out some of the brands we use for finishing below.
MISS MUSTARD SEED MILK PAINT
Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint is a versatile paint that is made the primitive way. Using only 5 ingredients and practically no VOC's this water based product can achieve so many beautiul finishes for our projects.
FUSION MINERAL PAINT
Fusion Mineral Paint is an amazing product that is available in so many wonderful colours. we water down this acryllic based paint which is low in VOC's to create a wash to be used like a stain or apply it as is for a amazing painted finish that includes a finish in the product.
MINWAX CANADA
Minwax Canada is well known for their oild based stains and finsihes but here at Build Like A Girl Canada we use their water based stains which are low in VOC's and dry very quickly for an awesome finish. We also combine many of their colours to achieve custom mixes and colours.
